DIVISION I

Dates and site: The championships will be March 8-9 at Arkansas.

Field: A total of 270 athletes will compete in the championships. Athletes qualify by reaching the automatic and provisional standards established for each event.

Selection date: The spots remaining in the field after the automatic qualifiers are entered will be filled from the descending-order list of provisional qualifiers March 4.

2001 team champion: UCLA.

Top team contenders: Arkansas, Clemson, LSU, Southern California, South Carolina.

Top individual contenders: Rachelle Boone, Indiana; Shalane Flanagan, North Carolina; Lauren Fleshman, Stanford; Muna Lee, LSU; Jamine Moton, Clemson; Candice Scott, Florida; Demetria Washington, South Carolina; Angela Williams, Southern California.

DIVISION II

Dates and site: The Eastern College Athletic Conference will host the championships March 8-9 at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston.

Field: A total of 154 athletes will compete in the championships. Athletes qualify by reaching the automatic and provisional standards established for each event.

Selection date: The spots remaining in the field after the automatic qualifiers are entered will be filled from the descending-order list of provisional qualifiers February 26.

2001 team champion: St. Augustine's.

Top team contenders: Abilene Christian, Ashland, North Dakota State, St. Augustine's.

Top individual contenders: Adriana Blewitt, Ashland; Maresa Cadienhead, Abilene Christian; Tanea Green, Findlay; Lana Jekabsone, Lewis; Molly Peppel, North Dakota State; Amber Plowden, Indiana (Pennsylvania); Anna Teschmaker, St. Augustine's; Jill Theeler, North Dakota State.

DIVISION III

Dates and site: The championships will be March 8-9 at Ohio Northern.

Field: A total of 200 athletes will compete in the championships. Athletes qualify by reaching the automatic and provisional standards established for each event.

Selection date: The spots remaining in the field after the automatic qualifiers are entered will be filled from the descending-order list of provisional qualifiers March 4.

2001 team champion: Wheaton (Massachusetts).

Top team contenders: Keene State, Lincoln (Pennsylvania), Wheaton (Massachusetts), Williams, Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Top individual contenders: Imo Akpan, Swarthmore; Megan Daymont, St. Olaf; Shimera Daniels, Wheaton (Massachusetts); Amber James, Wheaton (Massachusetts); Diana Lawson, New Jersey City; Sonja Peterson, Wisconsin-La Crosse; Mary Proulx, Keene State; Healy Thompson, Williams; Heidi Wolfsberger, Moravian.

As Division I prepares to conduct its 20th championships, LSU leads in top-five team finishes with 14.
