Wallace Renfro, NCAA director of public relations since 1998, has left that role to work in the NCAA executive office.

Renfro, celebrating his 30th year of employment with the NCAA, is now serving as special assistant for presidential transition and will work closely with NCAA President Cedric W. Dempsey, who will retire from the Association at the end of this year. Renfro will remain on staff with the NCAA through June 2002 and will then enter private practice as a consultant.

Danita Edwards, vice-president for public affairs, will manage the public relations staff until a new director is named.

Media should continue to direct their questions to the NCAA public relations staff by calling 317/917-6112. Calls will be routed to the appropriate public relations staff member
