Newly announced vacancies

The deadline for submission of nomination materials for the following vacancy is August 27, 2001.

Foreign Student Records Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Kevin Kehl, Abilene Christian University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must have expertise in foreign student records.

Previously listed vacancies

The deadline for submission of nomination materials for the following vacancy is August 17, 2001.

Men's and Women's Soccer Rules Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Charles Slagle, Davidson College, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must represent men's soccer and be from Division I-A.

Division I

Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I nomination form and Division I nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Division I Women's Softball Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Christina Wajda, Monmouth University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from Division I-AA or I-AAA and be from the East region.

Division II

Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self-nominations also are accepted in Division II. A Division II nomination form and Division II nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Division II Women's Lacrosse Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Mike Scerbo, Limestone College, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee may be from either the North or South regions and must be an athletics administrator.

Division II Women's Soccer Committee: One vacancy. The appointee must be from the South region and may be either an athletics administrator or a coach.

Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Joe Gentry, University of Indianapolis, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must represent men's tennis and be from the Midwest region. The appointee also must be an athletics administrator.

Division II Championships Committee: One September 1, 2001, vacancy. The appointee will replace Anne Little, Winston-Salem State College, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee preferably will be from either Region 1 or 2.

Division II Membership Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace James Battle, Virginia Union University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee preferably will be from either Region 2 or 3.

Division III

Division III individuals may be nominated by peers. Self-nominations also are accepted in Division III. A Division III nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Previously listed vacancies for January 2002

The deadline for submission of nomination materials for the following vacancies is August 20, 2001.

Division III Management Council: Three vacancies. The appointees will replace Joy Reighn, Rowan University; Oscar Page, Austin College; and Dee Fairchild, Grinnell College, who are not eligible for reappointment. At least one appointee must be a CEO and at least one must be a female. Preference will be given to Regions 1, 3, and 4. Appointees may not be from the New Jersey Athletic, American Southwest or Midwest Conferences.

Division III Budget Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Lynn Oberbillig, Smith College, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee may be from any region but may not be from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference.

Division III Championships Committee: One at-large vacancy. The appointee will replace Dee Fairchild, Grinnell College, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must be from Region 4 and may not be from the Midwest Conference.

Division III Financial Aid and Awards Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Ellen Shilkret, Vassar College, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must be a female financial aid administrator. The appointee may be from any region but may not be from the New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Division III Interpretations and Legislation Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Sue Chapman, Worcester State College, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee may not be from the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference.

Division III Membership Committee: Two vacancies. The appointees will replace Carol Fritz, Western Maryland College, and Christopher Dahl, State University of New York at Geneseo, who are not eligible for reappointment. One appointee must be a CEO and one must be a senior woman administrator. Appointees may not be from the Centennial or State University of New York Athletic Conferences.

Division III Nominating Committee: Two vacancies. The appointees will replace Valerie Cushman, Randolph-Macon Woman's College, and Robert Bonn, Carthage College, who are not eligible for reappointment. One appointee must be a female and one must be a male. One appointee preferably will be from Region 4. The appointees may not be from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin or the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

Note: Bylaw 21.8.1.3 states that a conference or institution whose term of office has expired on the committee shall not be replaced on that committee by another representative of the same conference or institution for a period of one year. Also, Bylaw 21.8.1.1 ("On the Staff") must be met in order to serve on a NCAA committee.
