Newly announced vacancies

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancies is May 1, 2001.

Men's and Women's Fencing Committee: One vacancy. The appointee may be from any division and will replace Denis Cochran-Fikes, University of Pennsylvania, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must represent women's interests and be from the Mid-Atlantic/South region.

Men's Water Polo Committee: One Division II vacancy. The appointee will replace Thomas Elson, University of California, Davis, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee may be from either the East or West regions.

Previously listed vacancies

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancies is April 13, 2001.

Honors Committee: One Division I vacancy. The appointee will replace Robert Steitz, Atlantic 10 Conference, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must be from Division I-AA.

Postgraduate Scholarship Committee: Two Division I vacancies. The appointees will replace Rosalia Scripa, University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Teresa Kuehn, West Coast Conference, who are not eligible for reappointment. At least one appointee must be from Division I-AAA and at least one must be a female.

Research Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Mildred Griggs, University of Illinois, Champaign, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must be a female faculty athletics representative and may be from Division I-A, I-AA or I-AAA.

Division I

Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I nomination form and Division I nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancies is April 13, 2001.

Committee on Athletics Certification: Three vacancies. The appointees will replace Paul Dee, University of Miami (Florida), James Walker, chancellor of the Southern Illinois University System, and Kathleen Hallock, Colonial Athletic Association, who are not eligible for reappointment. The appointees may be from Division I-A, I-AA or I-AAA, but only one of the three vacancies may be filled by a Division I-A representative.

Division I Initial-Eligibility Waivers Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Kim Hollins, Boston College, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee preferably will have expertise in international-student matters. The appointee may be from Division I-A, I-AA or I-AAA.

Division I Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Erica Renwick, St. Francis College (Pennsylvania), who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must represent women's interests.

Division II

Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division II. A Division II nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Division II Men's Lacrosse Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Chip Polak, New Hampshire College, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee may be a coach or an administrator.

Division III

Division III individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division III. A Division III nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Division III Women's Soccer Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Cathie Schweitzer, Springfield College, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must be from the New York region and may be either an administrator or a coach.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancies is April 13, 2001.

Division III Financial Aid and Awards Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Don Wharton, Plymouth State College, who has resigned from the committee. There are no restrictions for this appointment.

Division III Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Robert Malekoff, College of Wooster, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be a male.

Division III Men's Soccer Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Stephen Simmons, Linfield College, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the West region and may be a coach or an administrator.

Division III Women's Soccer Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Kevin Long, Randolph-Macon Women's College, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the South region and may be either a coach or an administrator.
