The Kenyon Lords entered the Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships March 15-17 with no intentions of surrendering the championship crown they've owned for 21 years. By meet's end, the crown was safe and another win was added to the longest streak in college swimming.

With Estevao Avila, Tom Rushton and Lloyd Baron leading the way, Kenyon amassed 669 points and claimed individual crowns in 14 of 20 events. The Lords broke meet records in the 1,650-yard freestyle, the 200- and 400-yard medley relays, the 400-yard individual medley, the 100-yard backstroke and the 800-freestyle relay events. Kenyon sophomore Read Boon contributed wins in the 100- and 200-yard freestyle swims.

Kenyon's sheer dominance put Emory a distant second with 289 1/2 points. Johns Hopkins (267), Hope (257) and Denison (213 1/2 ) rounded out the top five.

Individually, Hope's Josh Boss earned swimmer-of-the-meet recognition for his wins in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events. Middlebury diver Derek Chicarilli took the one- and three-meter events.
