Newly announced vacancies

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancy is September 25, 2000.

Committee on Women's Athletics: One Division II vacancy. The appointee will replace Jacqueline McWilliams, formerly of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, who has moved to Division I. There are no restrictions for the appointment.

Division I

Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I nomination form and Division I nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Newly announced vacancies

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancy is September 29, 2000.

Division I Men's and Women's Tennis Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Teresa Kuehn, West Coast Conference, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must represent women's tennis interests and be from the West region. The appointee must be from Divisions I-AA or I-AAA.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancy is September 18, 2000.

Division I Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Dan Laak, University of Georgia, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must represent diving and may be from any subdivision.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancy is September 25, 2000.

Committee on Athletics Certification: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Alan Chaves, Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from either Division I-AA or I-AAA.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancies is September 14, 2000.

Division I Infractions Appeals Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Rodney Smith, University of Arkansas, Little Rock, who has resigned from the committee.

Division I Initial-Eligibility Waivers Committee: Five vacancies. The appointees will replace Susan Berner, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; Noreen Morris, Conference USA; Carol Iwaoka, Big Ten Conference; Carl Settergren, University of Missouri, Columbia; and Marilyn Parker, Monmouth University, who are not eligible for reappointment. The appointees should have expertise in the following areas: learning disabilities, home school, foreign student records, core-course review and transcript change. The appointees must be from Division I-A.

Division I Satisfactory-Progress Waivers Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace James Klein, University of Toledo, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee may be from any subdivision.

Division II

Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division II. A Division II nomination form and Division II nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Division II Committee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Tony Capon, University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown, who has been selected to the Division II Management Council.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancy is September 25, 2000.

Division II Legislation Committee: The appointee will replace Michael Kovalchik, Hillsdale College, who has been selected to serve on the Division II Management Council. There are no legislative requirements for this appointment.

Division II Women's Basketball Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Jacqui McWilliams, Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the South Atlantic region.

Division III

Division III individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division III. A Division III nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Division III Softball Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Thomas Cole, Elmhurst College, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the Great Lakes region.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancy is September 25, 2000.

Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee: Nine vacancies. The appointees will replace those committee members not eligible for reappointment. All regions are available for appointment.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancies is September 14, 2000.

Division III Budget Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace David Carter, Eastern Connecticut State University, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must be a chief executive officer.

Division III Financial Aid and Awards Committee: Two vacancies (one student-athlete). The appointees will replace Georgette DeVeres, Claremont McKenna-Harvey Mudd-Scripps Colleges, and Ryan Eklund, University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, who are not eligible for reappointment. One appointee must be a female financial aid administrator and one must be a student-athlete. The appointees may not be from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate or the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conferences.

Division III Interpretations and Legislation Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Beverly Klooster, Calvin College, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must be a faculty athletics representative.

Division III Management Council: Four vacancies. The appointees will replace Albert Bean, University of Southern Maine, Walter Johnson, North Central College, Louise O'Neal, Wellesley College and Truman Turnquist, Mount Union College, who are not eligible for reappointment. At least one appointee must be a male and at least one appointee must be from Region 3.

Division III Membership Committee: Two vacancies. The appointees will replace Marcia Kierscht, Stephens College, and Mike Walsh, Washington and Lee University, who are not eligible for reappointment. At least one appointee preferably will be from Region 3.

Division III Softball Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Judith Yorio, Dickinson College, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the East region and be an athletics administrator.

Division III Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee: Two vacancies. The appointees will replace Jo Ann Andregg, University of St. Thomas (Minnesota), and Tom Weingartner, University of Chicago, who are not eligible for reappointment. One appointee must be a male and one must be a female. The appointees preferably will be from Regions 1, 3 or 4.
