The NCAA Division II Softball Committee has issued two public reprimands, one to University of Alabama, Huntsville, head coach Lorraine Stuedeman and another to University of West Florida head coach Tami Cyr.

Both coaches were reprimanded for knowingly and willfully engaging in public behavior unbecoming of a head coach. The incidents occurred during the 1999 NCAA Division II Softball Championship.

Both Stuedeman and Cry are banished from participating in the 2000 NCAA regional championship if their respective teams are selected to participate.

In addition, the committee will withhold both coaches' transportation and per diem allowances.

The committee expressed extreme disappointment with both coaches' behavior and believes that their actions only serve to discredit the student-athletes, coaching staffs and institutions, as well as the championship event.
