Abilene Christian mixed a large helping of track with a dash of field to repeat as team champion at the Division II Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 25-27 at North Carolina State.

The Wildcats' individuals and relay teams combined to win six of the 12 track events, along with three second-place finishes, on their way to 115 points. The Wildcats did not score a single point in the events with finals during the first two days of the meet.

St. Augustine's, which served as host of the championships, was second with 71 points.

Abilene Christian's title was its fourth in the last five years and division-leading 11th overall. The Wildcats also are on a five-year winning streak in the Division II Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Nic Alexander and John Kemboi each had two turns on the winner's stand. Alexander won the 100- and 200-meter dashes, and Kemboi captured the 800- and 1,500-meter runs.

The Wildcats' Julieon Raeburn won the 400-meter dash and was second behind Alexander in the 200. Raeburn and Alexander teamed with Oscar Meneses and J.R. Holder for another championship in the 400-meter relay.

Alfred Rugema also played in Abilene Christian's track domination with second-place performances in both the 1,500- and the 5,000-meter run.

The Wildcats' only points scored in the field events were provided by Terrance Woods, who was second in the high jump and third in the triple jump.

St. Augustine's recorded its third second-place finish in the last five years. The Falcons scored most of their points in the long and triple jumps, with four place winners in both events, along with winning the 1,600-meter relay.

Dane Magloire won the long jump and was fourth in the triple jump for St. Augustine's. Tim Rusan captured the triple jump and was sixth in the long jump. Lancelot Gooden also scored in both events -- second in the triple and eighth in the long.

The only repeat winners in the championships came from Central Missouri State. Vladimir Golias raced to his third consecutive victory in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, and Andrei Skvortsov reclaimed the pole vault title he first won in 1997.
