The NCAA News

The NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Committee has reprimanded Nick Garcia, a soccer player from Indiana University, Bloomington, for inappropriate behavior during the final of the 1999 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Specifically, Garcia was reprimanded for head-butting an opposing player from Santa Clara University. The committee has issued a public reprimand of Garcia. Additionally, the committee will withhold Garcia's transportation and per diem reimbursement to Indiana. Since the NCAA has already reimbursed Indiana for Garcia's expenses, the university will be asked to submit a check to the NCAA.
