Newly announced vacancies

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancy is August 11, 2000.

Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Dale Mildenberger, Utah State University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee preferably will be from Division I and must be a male athletic trainer.

Previously listed vacancies

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancy is July 28, 2000.

Committee on Women's Athletics: Two (one interim) vacancies. The appointees will replace Dorothy Alston, North Carolina A&T State University, and David Caputo, Hunter College, who have resigned from the committee. One appointee must be from Division I, preferably from Division I-A, and one appointee must be from Division III and may not be from the City University of New York Athletic Conference. At least one appointee must be a male.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancy is July 19, 2000.

Women's Basketball Rules Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Sue Donohoe, formerly of the Southland Conference, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from either Division I-AA or I-AAA and must be an administrator.

Division I

Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I nomination form and Division I nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Division I Softball Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Pam Wettig, formerly of Loyola Marymount University, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must be from Division I-AA or I-AAA and be from either the Northeast region or the East region.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancies is July 17, 2000.

Division I Women's Basketball Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Joni Comstock, Purdue University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from Division I-A and preferably will be from the East, Midwest or West region.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancies is July 19, 2000.

Division I Women's Lacrosse Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Amy Patton, Dartmouth College, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee preferably will be from the Northeast region and may be from any subdivision.

Division I Women's Volleyball Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Charlene Johnson, South Carolina State University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from either Division I-AA or
I-AAA and must be from District 3.

Division II

Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division II. A Division II nomination form and Division II nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Division II Academic Requirements Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Richard Cosby, Clark Atlanta University, who has resigned from the committee.

Division II Men's Basketball Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Paul Ruddy, Lewis University, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must be from the Great Lakes region and may be either a coach or an administrator.

Division II Women's Golf Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Gil Cloud, formerly of Arkansas Tech University. The appointee must be an administrator from the North region.

Division II Softball Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Jan Schefkowitz, Carson- Newman College, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must be from the West region and may either be a coach or an administrator.

Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Duward Whelchel, Georgia College & State University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be an administrator who represents men's tennis.

Division II Membership Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Donald Lyons, Kentucky State University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee may be from any region.

Division III

Division III individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division III. A Division III nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Division III Men's Golf Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Cary McConnell, Suffolk University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from District 1.

Division III Men's Basketball Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Larry Scheiderer, Denison University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the Great Lakes region and may be either a coach or an administrator.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancies is July 19, 2000.

Division III Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Committee: Two vacancies. The appointees will replace Mike Sutton, Claremont McKenna-Harvey Mudd-Scripps Colleges, and Barron Bremner, Coe College, who are not eligible for reappointment. One appointee must be from District 8 and at least one must be an administrator. The appointees may not be from the Southern California or Iowa Intercollegiate Conferences.

Division III Management Council: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Lon Boike, Clarke College, who has resigned from the committee. There are no legislative restrictions for the vacancy.
