The deadline for completed applications to be submitted for the NCAA Women's and Ethnic Minority Internship Program has been extended to March 24.

The extension is intended to give member institutions who have expressed interest in nominating candidates more time to complete the application process.

The extension is for this year only; subsequent application deadlines will be February 1 of each year.

The internship program provides on-the-job learning experience for women and minorities interested in pursuing a career in intercollegiate athletics.

Interns serve one-year terms and are awarded a monthly stipend not to exceed $1,600. Applicants must have completed requirements for an undergraduate degree and have demonstrated an interest in pursuing a career in athletics.

For more information about the program, contact Donnetta Moorman, NCAA director of professional development, at 317/917-6222.
