Facilities: New Jersey City University recently dedicated its soccer field in memory of Robert L. McNulty, a former head men's soccer coach and assistant professor at the institution. McNulty, who died in 1992, was the cofounder of both the New Jersey Soccer Coaches Association and the Eastern Soccer Coaches Association. He was director of the New Jersey State Coaching Schools and a member of the U.S. Soccer Federation coaching staff, as well as a member of the U.S. Olympic Team Selection Committee. McNulty remains the school's career leader in soccer victories with 63.

Conferences: The Knickerbocker Baseball Conference was recently accepted as a nonvoting, single-sport member conference of the NCAA. Its member institutions are: Bernard M. Baruch College; John Jay College of Criminal Justice; Lehman College; Manhattanville College; Mount St. Mary College; State University of New York at Old Westbury; St. Joseph's College (New York); College of Staten Island; and Stevens Institute of Technology.

Milestones: Jim Smith, St. John's University (Minnesota), 550 victories in men's basketball. Smith is the second-winningest coach in Minnesota collegiate basketball history ... Joe Bean, Wheaton College (Illinois), 500 victories in men's soccer. With the victory in the quarterfinals of the Division III NCAA tournament, Bean became only the third men's soccer coach in NCAA history to garner at least 500 wins ... Marty Peterson, University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, 500 victories in women's volleyball. Peterson is in her 17th season coaching the Titans, and her overall record is 507-324 ... Tony Lisa, Rowan University, 300 victories in men's and women's swimming ... Toby Bares, Wisconsin-Oshkosh, 200 victories in men's soccer ... Beth Pier, Lake Forest College, 100 victories in women's volleyball. Pier never has had a losing season.
