National Federation plans January move

The NCAA will be joined in Indianapolis in January by the National Federation of State High School Associations, the nearest equivalent to the NCAA on a high-school level.

The NFHS will occupy the Acme- Evans Superintendents Building, a historical structure located on the southeast corner of the property that is being used by the NCAA.

The high-school association has occupied office space near Kansas City International Airport since 1979. From 1971-79, the association was located in Elgin, Illinois, a Chicago suburb. Previous to that, the NFHS was located in downtown Chicago.

The NFHS is a national service and administrative organization of high-school athletics and fine arts programs in speech, debate and music. It serves 50 member state high-school athletics/activities associations, plus the District of Columbia.

It also publishes playing rules in 16 sports for boys and girls competition and provides programs and services that its member state associations can use in working with the 17,346 member high schools and approximately 10 million young people involved in high-school activity programs.
