Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field

Field: The Division III Championships Committee has approved a qualifying procedure that allows for a maximum of 331 student-athletes.

Dates and site: May 20-22 at Baldwin-Wallace.

Championships notes: Christopher Newport snapped a three-year winning streak by Wisconsin-Oshkosh when it captured the 1998 championship. The Captains regained the lead in team titles with six to Wisconsin-Oshkosh's five ... Christopher Newport's Bridget Cochran posted her third straight 100-meter high hurdles crown in 1998 to become the first Division III competitor and only the third in NCAA outdoor track history to accomplish that feat ... There have only been three triple-jump winners in the last 10 years. Tufts' Vera Stackhouse claimed the title from 1989-91, Brandeis' Eleena Zhelezov was a four-time champion from 1992-95 and Binghamton's Monique Hacker soared to victory in each of the last three years.
