Championships notes: Arkansas is riding a seven-year winning streak ... Southern Cal is the only team to win at least seven consecutive titles, capturing nine straight from 1935 through 1943 and seven more from 1949 through 1955 ... Since winning its last championship in 1934, 1998 runner-up Stanford has placed second seven times ... Olympic great Jesse Owens still holds the championship records for most individual titles in a year and in a career. Owens, competing for Ohio State, won four events in both 1935 and 1936. His eight career titles is one better than the seven compiled by UTEP's Suleiman Nyambui from 1979-82.
