Division II Men's Ice Hockey

Field: The championship features a two-team, two-game series with a minigame tiebreaker system, if necessary.

Dates and site: March 12-13 on the campus of one of the competing institutions.

Championship results also will be available on the World Wide Web at www.ncaa.org. Results will be published in the March 29 issue of The NCAA News.

Championship notes: At the 1999 Convention, the Division II membership adopted legislation to discontinue the championship, effective August 1, 1999 ... This will be the second time the championship has been discontinued. The event was discontinued after the 1984 event, but reinstated in 1993 ... Five teams (St. Michael's, St. Anselm, New Hampshire College, Assumption and Stonehill) are eligible to compete in the championship. Of the five teams, only New Hampshire College (1984) has competed in the event ... The minigame system has been used only once in championship finals competition. Bemidji State defeated Alabama-Huntsville, 2-1, in a minigame to claim the 1994 title.
