Five sites chosen for men's lacrosse satellite clinic

The NCAA Men's Lacrosse Committee will present a satellite telecast of a two-hour telephone-interactive rules clinic Sunday, February 7, beginning at 10 a.m. Eastern time.

As in previous years, viewing of this program or attendance at one of the previous two live clinics is required for all head coaches at NCAA schools that sponsor varsity men's lacrosse and for all officials who wish to be eligible to be selected to work at any of the NCAA championship tournament games.

Viewers may watch the program at any one of five official NCAA sites -- Loyola College, Baltimore, Maryland (Charleston Middle Court Lounge, contact Jamie Smith at 410/617-2773); Nichols College, Dudley, Massachusetts (Davis Hall, Center Road, contact Mike Kubic at 508/213-2223 or Tom Cafaro at 508/213-2271); Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio (Woody Hayes Athletic Center, contact Joe Breschi at 614/292-5052 or Patrick Collura at 606/344-9829); Emory University, Atlanta (Hospital Learning Resource Center, contact Dan McGee at 404/727-6394 or Eric Rudolph at 404/335-0717); and Onondaga Community College, Syracuse, New York [Founders Room, Coulter Library, contact Jeff Mercer at 315/446-9999 (work) or 315/637-8143 (home)]. Viewers from these sites may register attendance by using registration cards that will be distributed and collected at the site.

Those wishing to view the program from another site may access it by using satellite coordinates Telstar 5, Transponder 24 (C Band), Downlink Frequency 4180 MHz-H. These viewers may register their attendance by calling a toll-free telephone number that will be flashed on the screen at unannounced times during the program. This number will be active for two hours after the program.

Beginning at 9:30 a.m. Eastern time, an NCAA graphic will appear at the satellite coordinates to assure viewers they are at the correct setting. Those exercising this option will not have an opportunity to ask questions of the clinicians, who are secretary-rules editor Chuck Winters and national officiating coordinator Warren Kimber.

Those with questions about downlinking the program may call Chris Farrow at the NCAA national office (913/339-1906). Those with other questions about content or attendance requirements may call Marty Benson or Tim Pavlechko at the national office.
