Sports sponsorship: St. Bonaventure University will add women's lacrosse and women's golf in the 1999-2000 academic year. The school also announced that it is dropping women's volleyball, effective immediately ... State University of New York at Buffalo has reinstated baseball and softball as intercollegiate sports, effective for the 1999-2000 season. The school also announced that Bill Breene, current associate athletics director, will head the baseball program. Both sports are mandated by the Mid-American Conference, of which Buffalo is now a member. Both programs are expected to play a nonconference Division I schedule in the spring of 2000 and will become official members of the MAC in 2000-01.

Milestones: Mike Quitko, Quinnipiac College, 100 victories in women's tennis .... Jerry Moore, Appalachian State University, 100 wins in football. Moore is 103-86 overall in 16 seasons and is the winningest coach in Appalachian State history.
