The deadline for submission of completed nomination forms for the following vacancy is October 16, 1998.

Men's and Women's Fencing Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointees will replace Jeffrey Eisen, formerly of the University of Detroit, Mercy, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must represent women's fencing and must must be an athletics administrator. The appointee must be from the Midwest region. Eligible divisions: I-A, I-AA, I-AAA, II, III.

Division I

Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I Nomination Form and Division I Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 913/339-0035).

Division I Committee on Athletics Certification: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Michael B. McGee, University of South Carolina, who resigned from the committee. Eligible subdivisions: I-A, I-AA, I-AAA.

Division I Men's and Women's Golf Committee: Two vacancies. The appointees will replace Tana Figueras, formerly of Northern Arizona University, who was unable to accept the appointment and Ginger K. Fulton, formerly of Xavier University, who is no longer at the institution. Both appointees must represent women's golf interests and one preferably will be from the women's Midwest district. The other appointee preferably will be from the women's Far West district. No more than one of the appointees may be from Division I-A. Eligible subdivisions: I-A, I-AA, I-AAA.

Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division II. A Division II Nomination Form and Division II Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. The appointee will replace Ann Lebedeff, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must represent men's tennis and must be from the West region. The appointee must be female.

Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Committee: Two vacancies. The appointees will replace Donna Arnold, not eligible for reappointment, and Ann Lebedeff, who resigned from the committee. Both appointees must be female. One appointee must represent men's tennis and must be from the West region. The other appointee must represent women's tennis and must be from the East region. One of the two appointees must be an athletics administrator.

Men's and Women's Skiing Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Kelly Higgins, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from Division II and preferably will be from the Central region.

Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspect of Sports: One Division II vacancy. The appointee will replace Ann Quinn-Zobeck, not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must be a female coach at a Division II institution.

Division III

Division III Interpretations and Legislation Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Richard Johanningmeier, formerly of Illinois College, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be male and may not be from the Midwest Conference.

Division III Women's Lacrosse Committee: Two remaining vacancies. One new appointee must be from the Metro region, due to expansion of the committee. The interim appointee must be from the West region and will replace Donna Ledwin, formerly of the College of Notre Dame. Both appointees must be athletics administrators who do not coach women's lacrosse.

Division III Management Council: Additional nominations are solicited for ethnic minority candidates. Candidates may be from any geographical region. Eligible conferences: Capital Athletic Conference, Centennial Conference, Constitution Athletic Conference, Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Great Northeast Athletic Conference, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference, Middle Atlantic States Conference, New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association, Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference, Northwest Conference of Independent Colleges, Presidents' Athletic Conference, St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Skyline Conference, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association, and Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Appointees must be current student-athletes or no more than two years past the expiration of their athletics eligibility. Ethnic minority candidates are strongly urged to apply.
