Division III notes

Sports sponsorship: Gwynedd-Mercy College has announced the addition of men's baseball and women's softball. Both teams will begin play in spring 1999. Paul Murphy has been named head baseball coach and Denise Harmon has been named head softball coach ... Louisiana College has announced the addition of football beginning in 2000. The institution has not fielded a football team since 1968. Louisiana College also plans to join the American Southwest Conference.

Conferences: The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has signed a three-year corporate partnership agreement with Firstar Corp., a banking company headquartered in Milwaukee.
