Division II notes

Facilities: Two central Florida foundations have donated $1 million toward a $10.1 million state-of-the-art athletics facility at Rollins College. A gift from the Bert W. Martin Foundation will fund renovation of the main basketball court and arena in the Harold & Ted Alfond Sports Center while a donation from the Elizabeth Morse Genius Foundation will cover the cost of the center's new recreational gymnasium. The construction phase of the project is expected to begin as early as spring 1999. The Warden Arena, which will include a complete renovation of the existing basketball facility, will consist of 21,000 square feet of space and serve as the centerpiece for the sports center and the "home court" for Rollins sports, recreation and all-campus events.

Conferences: Teikyo Post University will join the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) at the beginning of the 1999-2000 academic year. Teikyo Post, an NCAA provisional member, will not participate in the NECC basketball tournaments during its first three years of conference membership. The addition of Teikyo Post will bring the NECC's membership to 10 ... The West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) board will grant membership to Ohio Valley College, "pending consideration of all aspects of NCAA Division II provisional membership and once NCAA Division II membership requirements are met." The addition of Ohio Valley would bring WVIAC membership to 15.

Milestones: Maxine Mehus, Emporia State University, 500 career victories in women's volleyball ... Sue Uebel, Ashland University, 400 career victories in women's volleyball.
