Nominations are being accepted for the following interim (immediate) committee vacancies and vacancies with terms beginning September 1, 1998.

Previously listed vacancies

The deadline for submission of completed nomination forms for the following vacancy is July 24, 1998.

Honors Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace George Raveling. The appointee must be a nationally distinguished citizen and does not have to be currently affiliated with an NCAA institution or conference. Eligible divisions: I-A, I-AA, I-AAA, II, III.

Division I

Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I Nomination Form and Division I Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 913/339-0035).

forms for the following vacancy is July 24, 1998.

Division I Men's and Women's Golf Committee: One vacancy, women's subcommittee. The appointee will replace Tana Figueras, Northern Arizona University, who will not accept the appointment effective September 1, 1998. The appointee must represent women's golf and will preferably be from the Far West women's golf district. The appointee may not be from Division I-A. Eligible subdivisions: I-AA, I-AAA.

Honors Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Julie Riccardelli, formerly of Brown University, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from Division I-AA. Eligible subdivision: I-AA.

Core-Course Review Committee: Two immediate vacancies. One appointee will serve on the social science subcommittee and one on the English subcommittee. The Academics/Eligibility/Compliance Cabinet, which appoints the Division I members of the Core-Course Review Committee, specifically is seeking faculty members with recent experience in either social sciences or English. The cabinet also hopes to increase the diversity of the pool of nominees. Eligible subdivisions: I-A, I-AA, I-AAA.

Postgraduate Scholarship Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Chet Gladchuk, University of Houston, who resigned from the committee. Eligible subdivisions: I-A, I-AA, I-AAA.

Division II

Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division II. A Division II Nomination Form and Division II Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Julie Quickel, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 913/339-0035).

Division II Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee: One interim (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Tom Henderson, South Dakota State University, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must represent women's track and will preferably be from the North Central region.

Division III individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division III. A Division III Nominee Information Form must be completed for each nominee.
