Drug-education video will be available soon

The NCAA Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports is pleased to announce the availability of a new resource to assist in your drug-education efforts.

Sports and Drugs, a 25-minute educational video from the NCAA Sports Sciences and CNS Productions, Inc., will be available this summer.

This video will present the viewpoints of coaches, athletic trainers, medical professionals, and collegiate and professional athletes, to give a personalized perspective of the effects of drugs, the potential for misuse and abuse and, particularly, the ethics of use.

The NCAA is collaborating with CNS, which has been a leader in drug education for 20 years. Working in conjunction with the Haight-Asbury Clinics in San Francisco, CNS has produced numerous videos, CD-ROMs, and textbooks on health-related subjects and has won two National Emmy Awards, and a Peabody Award, among others.

Previews of the video will be available after June 1 at no charge. To order, call CNS at 800/ 888-0617, fax to 541/482-9252 or e-mail to cns@mind.net.
