Wempe selected as new administrator for NCAA infractions committees

Rebecca Wempe has been selected as the new administrator for the NCAA Committees on Infractions.

She replaces Robin Green, who recently assumed another post within the Association as assistant chief of staff for Division I. Wempe will work with the Divisions I and II Committees on Infractions and the Division III Infractions and Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee in the administration of major infractions cases.

Wempe most recently was law clerk and research attorney for a federal appeals court judge. In that capacity, she researched and wrote prehearing memoranda, researched and drafted proposed opinions, and reviewed proposed opinions.

She previously served in a similar capacity for the senior federal district judge for Kansas.

In addition to her legal experience, Wempe also has served as a programmer/analyst for Western Resources, Inc., and the state of Kansas. She also was worked in personnel management, utilities analysis and energy research.

Wempe holds undergraduate and law degrees from Washburn University of Topeka. At Washburn Law School, she was named an alumni scholar and was a member of the law journal, among other honors. As an undergraduate, she was awarded a Kansas Board of Regents State Scholarship, was vice-president of Omicron Delta Epsilon (economic honor society) and played varsity tennis.

She is a member of the Kansas Bar Association.
