Borden joins II Management Council

Kenneth Borden, professor of chemistry and faculty athletics representative at the University of Indianapolis, has joined the Division II Management Council as the representative of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

He replaces David P. O'Toole of Bellarmine College, whose term on the Management Council expired upon adjournment of the 1998 Convention.

Borden joined the chemistry faculty at Indianapolis (then known as Indiana Central College) in 1968. He has served since 1977 as chairman of the chemistry department and was promoted to professor of chemistry in 1980.

He has been actively involved with athletics at the school since serving as the institution's sports information director for two years beginning in 1976. He became faculty athletics representative and chair of the school's athletics committee in 1980.

Borden has served terms as president of both the Heartland Collegiate and the Great Lakes Valley Conferences.

He earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and mathematics at Eastern New Mexico University; a master of science degree in physical chemistry at the University of Illinois, Champaign; and a doctorate in nuclear chemistry at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.
