BASKETBALL

Research by the American Basketball Council shows that more people than ever say basketball is their favorite sport. In addition, the number of basketball participants in both sexes is up in almost all age groups over the last decade. The highest percentage of participation in any age group is for males age 12-17, 64.0 percent of whom play the game. For females, 46.7 percent of those age 12-17 play basketball, the highest of any female age group surveyed.
