Committee notices

>Nominations are being solicited for vacancies in Divisions I and II, as follows:

Division I

Conferences represented in the Division I governance structure are encouraged to submit nominations for the following current vacancies. The Division I Nomination Form and Nominee Information Form must be submitted to Julie Quickel, NCAA committee coordinator, by December 30, 1997 (fax 913/339-0035).

Satisfactory-Progress Waiver Committee: The Division I Board of Directors' adoption of Proposal 97-8 resulted in establishment of a standing committee to handle satisfactory-progress waivers. The new committee reports directly to the Division I Academics/Eligibility/Compliance Cabinet. The committee will be composed of five members. Eligible subdivisions: Divisions I-A, I-AA and I-AAA.

Division I Women's Volleyball Committee: One interim vacancy. Appointee will replace Linda E. White, Clemson University, who resigned from the committee. The appointee preferably will be an athletics administrator from volleyball District 3 and may not be from Division I-A. Eligible subdivisions: Divisions I-AA and I-AAA.

Division II

Nominations are now being accepted for the following current vacancies. The Division II Nomination Form and Nominee Information Form can be obtained from Julie Quickel, NCAA committee coordinator, and must be submitted to Quickel by December 30, 1997 (fax 913/339-0035).

Division II Championships Committee: One interim vacancy. Appointee will replace Earl W. Edwards, East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, who resigned from the committee due to his appointment to the Division II Management Council.

Division II Baseball Committee: One interim vacancy. Appointee will replace Joseph J. Jordano, formerly of Mercyhurst College, who resigned from the committee. The appointee preferably will be from the North Central baseball region and must be an athletics administrator.

Division II Men's Soccer Committee: One interim vacancy. Appointee will replace Earl W. Edwards, East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, who resigned from the committee due to his appointment to the Division II Management Council. The appointee preferably will be from the Central men's soccer region and must be an athletics administrator.
