'98 Betty Ford residential program dates announced

Dates for the 1998 NCAA/Betty Ford Center Professional in Residence (PIR) Program have been announced.

The PIR program permits participants to learn about chemical dependency and its treatment by experiencing the actual treatment process alongside patients.

Professionals from various fields attend the program, including health-care professionals, psychologists, therapists, social workers, counselors, employee assistance professionals, educators, law enforcement personnel, judges, attorneys, clergy, coaches, athletics directors and business leaders.

Following are the 1998 PIR program dates and deadlines for applications:

Program dates -- Deadline

February 24-27 -- January 23

March 24-27 -- February 27

June 2-5 -- May 1

October 6-9 -- September 4

October 20-23 -- September 24

December 1-4 -- October 29

December 15-18 -- November 12
