The University of South Carolina, Columbia, football team participated in 32 community service projects last year and started this year off with more. Freshman football players Melvin Paige and Todd Davis hoist kids up so they can see a stage better. More than 250 children were at the Richmond County Public Library for the "Pigskin Poets Day." The student-athletes read books to the children, listened to stories and signed autographs.
