Track subcommittee corrects information

A September 4 memorandum sent to Division I cross country/track and field coaches contained incorrect information regarding the 1998 indoor track championships.

The Division I subcommittee of the NCAA Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee voted during its 1997 meeting that preliminary rounds will not be run in the 3,000-meter run.

The memorandum incorrectly stated that the committee agreed that preliminary rounds would be run.
