CORRECTIONS

The sport affiliation was listed incorrectly for Katherine B. Maynard, NCAA Woman of the Year winner for New York, in the September 1 issue of The NCAA News. She was nominated in tennis.

The institutional affiliation for Carol Oakland was listed incorrectly in the August 18 issue of the News in an article about the annual National Association of Athletic Development Directors Workshop. Oakland is affiliated with Augustana (Illinois).

A chart accompanying a story on athlete-agent laws in the August 18 issue of The NCAA News contained incorrect information regarding the number of agents registered in states with laws regulating athlete agents. In listings for states (California, Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, North Dakota, Ohio and Pennsylvania) that do not require athlete agents to register, the symbol "N/A" -- indicating not applicable -- should have appeared instead of "0." In addition, the chart should have indicated that two agents were registered in Missouri, 75 in North Carolina and 84 agents in Florida (as well as 231 previously registered agents who have yet to renew their licenses). The information contained in the chart regarding the number of athlete agents registered was based on individual calls placed during the month of July 1997 to the respective state agencies charged with administering the registration process under their states' athlete-agent laws.
