Compliance group links with NACDA

The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) has reached an agreement with the National Association of Athletic Compliance Coordinators (NAACC) to serve as administrator of the association.

NACDA also administers the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators and the National Association of Athletic Development Directors. Additionally, NACDA provides assistance to the National Alliance of Two-Year Collegiate Athletic Administrators.

NAACC is in its sixth year and serves as the professional and educational association of athletics compliance officers. The association holds one meeting annually in conjunction with the NCAA Convention.

NAACC's executive committee includes Dede Allen, University of Alaska Anchorage; Michael Beachley, Oregon State University; Kathy Beauregard, Western Michigan University; Bob Burton, Texas Tech University; Damon Evans, Southeastern Conference; Noreen Morris, Conference USA; and Chris Schoemann, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

"The relationship with NACDA provides the National Association of Athletic Compliance Coordinators with a new opportunity for growth," says Gregory Sankey, commissioner of the Southland Conference and past president of NAACC. "NACDA will make the NAACC a stronger organization through enhanced marketing and administrative programs. We look forward to working with NACDA."

Services provided by NACDA are membership functions, including member solicitation and dues payments, meeting planning, production of NAACC's newsletter, and general administrative duties.

"We are very pleased the NAACC has decided to join the family of associations administered by NACDA," said Vincent J. Dooley, director of athletics at the University of Georgia and NACDA president. "The compliance coordinators are an integral part of the athletics department. The services provided by NACDA will aid the NAACC in their growth, accomplishing their goals and those of their members."
