III to fill Management Council, committee spots

Nominations sought for vacancies on II football committee

Division III is soliciting nominations for terms that will begin in January 1998 on the Division III Management Council and the Budget and Nomination Committees.

Nominations should be sent to Julie Quickel, NCAA committee coordinator, by June 27. Nominations should be in writing and can be sent via fax to Quickel at 913/339-0035.

The Division III Nominating Committee will begin reviewing nominations at its August 10-11 meeting. Appointments will be approved at the October 20-21 Management Council meeting.

Self-nominations are encouraged, as well as nominations by peers. Once Quickel receives a nomination, she will send an information form via fax to the nominee. The deadline for the return of the nominee form is July 11.

Five positions will be filled on the Management Council. Significant experience with NCAA committees is required. The new members must include one chief executive officer, two athletics directors/senior woman administrators, one male, three females and one ethnic minority. One person could fulfill more than one requirement.

One vacancy will occur on the Budget Committee. A nominee should have some committee experience. The position is at large and must be filled by an athletics administrator who is not on the Championships Committee or Management Council.

The Nominating Committee will have two vacancies. Some committee experience is required.

One of the new members must be a male and one must be a female. Preferably, one will be from Region 3 and one from Region 4.
