NACDA forum addresses gambling

The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) sponsored its annual Division I Athletics Directors Forum March 30-31 at the St. Vincent Marten House Hotel in Indianapolis.

This year's forum featured two opening-day general sessions for all Division I athletics directors. The session on "What You Need to Know About Gambling in College Athletics" was moderated by Jim Livengood, athletics director at the University of Arizona and NACDA's second vice-president. The panel included Sue Castorino and Randy Minkoff of Speaking Specialists; Chester S. Gladchuk, athletics director at Boston College; and William S. Saum, NCAA enforcement representative.

The second session was on "Fund Raising Through a Web Site" and was presented by the Collegiate Financial Network. The moderator was Gene Hooks, executive director of the Division I-A Athletics Directors' Association.

On the forum's second day, athletics directors were treated to wellness tests provided by the St. Vincent Hospitals and Health Services.
