GRADUATION RATES

Department of Education grants waiver to reporting act

The U.S. Department of Education will grant a waiver to the NCAA pursuant to provisions of the Student Right-to-Know Act.

The waiver will allow the NCAA to collect, compile and distribute graduation-rates data and submit that data in report form to the Department of Education to satisfy requirements of the act.

The waiver applies to the submission of graduation-rates data by NCAA Division I institutions for the report due July 1, 1997. Divisions II and III institutions are not required under the law to submit data until 2001.
