Committee changes

The following changes, corrections and additions have been made to information in the 1996 NCAA Committee Handbook. The handbook is the official source of information about NCAA committees until October 1996, when the 1996-97 NCAA Directory will be published. Changes are effective immediately unless otherwise noted.

Presidents Commission

James E. Halligan, Oklahoma State University, appointed to replace Charles A. Kiesler, University of Missouri, Columbia.

Council-appointed committees

Basketball Officiating Committee: Dana L. Craft, Southwest Texas State University, named to replace Jean Lenti-Ponsetto, DePaul University, as the Division I Women's Basketball Committee representative.

Communications Committee: Extended the term of R. C. Johnson, University of Memphis, until September 1, 1997, instead of naming a new member to replace Jeffrey T. Bollig, no longer at a member conference. Johnson's term was to have expired September 1, 1996. Action was taken because the committee may be dissolved as a result of restructuring.

Charles Gordon, Emory University, appointed to replace Keith L. Schrage, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, resigned.

Men's Soccer Committee: Earl W. Edwards, East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, appointed to replace Daniel N. Audette, no longer with an NCAA active member.

Men's and Women's Tennis Committee: Cathy Beene, formerly at the University of Texas, Arlington, now at Georgia Southern University.

Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee: Mark Kostek, University of Nebraska, Lincoln, appointed to replace Steven R. Hellyer, University of Oregon, declined reelection.

Division I Management Council Transition Team: William C. Carr III, University of Houston, appointed to replace Kevin White as the Conference USA representative.
