Fall Betty Ford Center, drug-testing crew chief programs are planned

Dates for the upcoming NCAA/Betty Ford Center Professional in Residence Program and a drug-testing chiefs' training program have been announced by the NCAA sports-sciences staff.

Dates for this fall for the Betty Ford Center program are as follows: September 3-6 (enrollment deadline August 6), October 15-18 (enrollment deadline September 17), October 29-November 1 (enrollment deadline October 1), November 12-15 (enrollment deadline October 15), and December 3-6 (enrollment deadline November 5).

Administrators or coaches at NCAA member institutions who are interested in participating in the NCAA/Betty Ford Center Professional in Residence Program or those who desire more information may contact Donna Hockersmith, sports sciences program coordinator, at the national office.

Individuals who are interested in serving as drug-testing crew chiefs are encouraged to contact the NCAA sports sciences staff.

To be eligible, an individual must be a physician or registered nurse.

A training session is planned for this fall, although no site or date has been determined.

A letter of interest accompanied by a resume should be sent to Cindy A. Thomas, assistant director of sports sciences, by September 15.
