New Macintosh version of Compliance Assistant sent to schools

The new Macintosh version of the NCAA Compliance Assistant software program was shipped April 18 to the 90 individuals who had requested the program.

The Macintosh version provides the same tracking and reporting abilities as the IBM version released in 1993 (except that ad hoc reporting capabilities are not available).

Compliance Assistant is a student-athlete database designed to assist Divisions I and II institutions in creating and maintaining compliance records and accurately completing forms required by NCAA legislation.

The program applies appropriate NCAA legislation to the student-athlete information that is entered and generates specific reports (for example, NCAA squad lists, satisfactory-progress work sheets). In addition, the software assists institutions with monitoring the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.

The software is free to NCAA members.

The Macintosh version can be ordered by calling Jeaneen Layton at the national office (913/339-1906).

The software support help desk at the national office is available to answer questions about the software, either by phone (913/339-1906) or Internet (softwaresupport@ncaa.org).

The Macintosh version should be installed only on a Macintosh computer that uses the System 7.5 or System 7.5.1 operating system.
