Jake Taber
Albion tabbed Jake Taber as its new head men’s and women’s swimming and diving coach. Taber spent the five years as the head coach at Olivet. He takes over for longtime coach Keith Havens, who will retire at the end of the academic year.

Associate athletics directors – Kevin Greim, associate athletic director for external relations at Missouri Southern State, is now the university’s major gifts officer.
Coaches
Men’s basketball – Bluefield State removed the interim tag from Jamaal Jackson, making him head men’s basketball coach. Jackson spent a season leading the team in the interim role … Drexel and head men’s basketball coach Bruiser Flint agreed to a multi-year contract extension. Flint has coached the Dragons for 11 seasons … Memphis extended the contract of head men’s basketball coach Josh Pastner by one year, keeping him with the Tigers through the 2017 season … Steve Prohm signed a one year contract extension with Murray State and now has a deal that lasts through the 2015-16 season … South Carolina chose Frank Martin to lead its men’s basketball program as head coach. Martin coached the last five seasons at Kansas State … UAB hired Jerod Haase as its new head men’s basketball coach. Haase spent the last 13 years as an assistant at North Carolina … Wagner elevated Bashir Mason from assistant to head men’s basketball coach. Mason spent two seasons as an assistant and, at 28, becomes the youngest Division I head coach.
Women’s basketball – Drake head women’s basketball coach Amy Stephens resigned. Stephens spent nine seasons with the program … Elizabethtown named Sherri Gorman head women’s basketball coach. Gorman spent the last seven seasons coaching on the high school level … Georgia Southern chose Chris Vozab as its new head women’s basketball coach. Vozab was most recently an assistant at Dayton … Memphis head women’s basketball coach Melissa McFerrin received a one year contract extension, keeping her in the role through 2017 … Miami (Florida) and Katie Meier agreed to a two-year contract extension that will run through April 30, 2018. Meier just completed her seventh season at the helm of the program … Adam Wiggins is Ole Miss’ new head women’s basketball coach. Wiggins spent seven-plus previous seasons leading Fresno State’s program.
Football – Alabama and head football coach Nick Saban agreed to a two-year contract extension, keeping him with the Crimson Tide through the 2019 season.
Football assistants – Carleton named Dick Tressel offensive coordinator. Tressel spent 11 seasons as an assistant at Ohio State previously … Cincinnati added Shannon Morrison to its football coaching staff as defensive backs coach … Post hired Dan Petrosky as its director of football operations.
Men’s and women’s soccer – Calvin head men’s soccer coach Chris Hughes is departing to take the same position at NAIA institution Davenport. Hughes spent more than 20 years with Calvin’s program, including the last 10 as head coach.
Men’s and women’s swimming and diving – Gallaudet elevated assistant Larry Curran to head men’s and women’s swimming coach. Bill Snape stepped down from the role of head coach after eight years and will remain with the program as coordinator of swimming operations.

Milestones
Minnesota State Mankato head softball coach Lori Meyer earned her 900th career victory. Meyer is in her 28th season as the Mavericks’ head coach.
Deaths
Mickey Sullivan, a former Baylor player and coach in both football and baseball, died at 80 years of age after a long battle with cancer.
