Western Kentucky hired Michelle Clark-Heard to lead its women’s basketball program as head coach. Clark-Heard spent the past five seasons as an assistant at Louisville and was Kentucky State’s head coach for two years prior to that. Clark-Heard is a Western Kentucky alum, playing for the Hilltoppers from 1987-1990.

Other transactions

Athletics directors – Florida Atlantic Athletics Director Craig Angelos was let go. Angelos had been with the institution since 2003. Senior associate athletics director Melissa Dawson takes over on an interim basis.

Coaches

Women’s basketball – Cary Shelton resigned from his role as Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s head women’s basketball coach. Shelton held the position for three years … Ball State head women’s basketball coach Kelly Packard resigned. Packard spent four seasons with the institution.
