2012 NCAA Men's Final Four to be viewed by millions around the world

In addition to its national telecast on CBS and availability online via March Madness Live, the 2012 NCAA Men’s Final Four broadcast will be distributed by ESPN International to more than 200 countries around the world, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain and United Kingdom.

Since 2004, the number of countries broadcasting the Final Four has grown 75 percent.

ESPN International is producing a world feed of the Final Four, with Mark Brown and Fran Fraschilla calling the action.

Dial Global/Westwood One Radio will broadcast the games from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans to nearly 500 affiliates nationwide. In addition, the American Armed Forces Network will transmit the CBS coverage of the broadcast to more than 175 countries and 140 ships at sea. The games also can be heard on Sirius/XM satellite radio and online at www.ncaa.com/mml.

“The Final Four continues to show it is the preeminent basketball event in the world, as evidenced by the growing number of countries carrying the broadcast,” said Greg Shaheen, NCAA interim executive vice president for championships and alliances. “We are thrilled NCAA basketball fans around the globe – old and new – will have the Final Four brought to them. And we are especially proud that the games will be broadcast to the courageous men and women serving our country abroad via the American Armed Forces Network.”

Saturday’s first semifinal game, featuring South Regional champion Kentucky against West Regional champion Louisville, tips off at 6:09 p.m. Eastern. East Regional champion Ohio State faces Midwest Regional champion Kansas 40 minutes after the conclusion of the first semifinal. Monday’s championship game is scheduled to tip off at 9:23 p.m. Eastern.
