Hanover tabbed Matt Wilkerson as its new head men’s soccer coach. Wilkerson spent the past nine seasons as an assistant at Kentucky. Prior to that, Wilkerson gained experience at the club and high school level. He played collegiately with the Wildcats for two seasons and Green Bay for the other two.

Other transactions

Athletics directors – Northern State appointed Joshua Moon as its next athletics director. Moon is currently Western Illinois’ senior associate director of athletics. He replaces Bob Olson, who will retire in May.

Associate athletics directors – Utica promoted Jim Murnane from assistant athletics director/intramural director to associate athletics director/intramural director/compliance coordinator.

Assistant athletics directors – Utica elevated Gil Burgmaster from sports information director to assistant athletics director/sports information director.

Coaches

Women’s basketball – Auburn head women’s basketball coach Nell Fortner has resigned, effective the end of the season. Fortner has coached the squad for eight seasons.

Football assistants – Georgetown hired Vinny Marino as its offensive coordinator. Marino has 20 years of coaching experience overall, the last six as Columbia’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach … UAB added offensive coordinator duties to quarterbacks coach Jeff Brohm. Additionally, defensive line coach Jimmy Williams was promoted to assistant head coach and John Peterson is the team’s new offensive line coach.

Men’s and women’s golf – Hampden-Sydney named Joe Bush head men’s golf coach. Bush previously served in the role from 2002-10 and has also been the institution’s head football coach and athletics director in the past.

Men’s and women’s soccer – Carleton head women’s soccer coach Keren Gudeman resigned. Gudeman spent six seasons leading the program … Clark (Massachusetts) chose Matt O’Toole to lead its men’s soccer program as head coach. O’Toole comes from Amherst, where he was an assistant last season.

Men’s and women’s volleyball – Barton head men’s and women’s volleyball coach Jim Freeman announced his resignation. Freeman came to Barton in January 2011, coaching the women’s team for one season and is leading the men’s program currently in season … Carla Decker, head women’s volleyball coach at Lander, is resigning at the end of the academic year. Decker coached the Bearcats for six years … Western Illinois named April Hall head women’s volleyball coach. Hall was an assistant with Northern Kentucky last season.
