Warde Manuel

Connecticut appointed Warde Manuel as its director of athletics. Manuel comes from Buffalo, where he has been the director of athletics for the past six years. Prior to his time at Buffalo, Manuel worked at his alma mater, Michigan, as an assistant and associate athletics director. Manuel was a football student-athlete during his time with the Wolverines.

Coaches

Football assistants – Houston rounded out its football coaching staff by hiring former Cougar Brandon Middleton to coach the outside receivers and Travis Bush to coach the running backs. Middleton comes from coaching at the high school level, while Bush was UTSA’s offensive coordinator … Wake Forest added Jonathan Himebauch and Derrick Jackson to its football coaching staff. Himebauch, most recently a coach in the Canadian Football League, will coach the offensive line. Jackson was the defensive line coach at Rice last season and will coach Wake Forest’s outside linebackers.

Conferences

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference is adding football as a championship sport beginning with the 2013-14 academic year.
