Melba Chambers
College of Charleston added Melba Chambers to its women’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant. Chambers was most recently an assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator at Bowie State and has over 10 years of coaching and playing experience.
Other transactions
Men’s basketball – Texas-Arlington and head men’s basketball coach Scott Cross agreed to a four-year contract extension. Cross is in his sixth year leading the program.
Men’s basketball assistants – Drake assistant men’s basketball coach Mike Gibson and director of basketball operations Jamelle McMillan are leaving the program. Gibson was with Drake for four seasons, while McMillan held his role for one year.
Women’s basketball – Bowling Green elevated Jennifer Roos from associate head coach to head women’s basketball coach. Roos spent the last 11 years on the staff … Bucknell chose Aaron Roussell to lead its women’s basketball program as head coach. Roussell coached Chicago the past eight seasons … Drake tabbed Jennie Lillis Baranczyk as its new head women’s basketball coach. Lillis Baranczyk was Colorado’s assistant coach and recruiting coordinator previously … Danielle O’Banion is Kent State’s new head women’s basketball coach. O’Banion spent the last four years at Memphis, the last two as associate head coach … Texas Southern hired Cynthia Cooper-Dyke as its head women’s basketball coach. Cooper-Dyke coached North Carolina-Wilmington the past two seasons.
Men’s and women’s soccer – New Haven head men’s soccer coach Josh Krusewski resigned. Krusewski led the program from 2007-2011.
Wrestling – South Dakota State selected Chris Bono as its new head wrestling coach.
Staff
Sports information – Florida International named Joe Hornstein director of sports information.
