The Division II regular-season football television package opens Thursday when Central Washington visits Humboldt State.
Sept. 8 Central Washington at Humboldt State
Sept. 15 Bloomsburg (Pa.) at Indiana (Pa.)
Sept. 22 Missouri Western State at Washburn
Oct. 6 Colorado School of Mines at Colorado State-Pueblo
Oct. 20 Ashland at Saginaw Valley State
Oct. 27 Augustana (S.D.) at Minnesota State Mankato
It will be the first of six Division II football games that will appear on the CBS Sports Network for the 2011 season. Games also will be syndicated on regional and local networks, and simulcast live on NCAA.com.
This package marks the sixth year of Division II and CBS Sports Network’s partnership to provide Division II schools live national television exposure for their football and basketball programs.
The Central Washington-Humboldt State game will be big for both schools. Humboldt State, which opened with a 29-3 victory over Colorado Mesa, is appearing for the first time on Division II-CBS Sports Network package, which is available to more than 95 million U.S. households through various cable and satellite providers. It will be the second appearance on the package for Central Washington, which began the season ranked No. 22 and lost 22-7 to No. 7 Texas A&M-Kingsville in its opener. As of Tuesday, Central Washington alumni had arranged 12 watch parties throughout Washington for the Humboldt State game – and one in Washington, D.C.
All games are scheduled for 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
