Kyle Robarts, sports information director at McMurry, has resigned from his position to move within the university as the associate director of university relations for marketing services. Robarts was in his second stint as McMurry’s sports information director after working in the position from January 2006 to June of 2008 and returning in July of 2009.
Other transactions
Athletics directors – Simon Fraser, a prospective Division II member institution, appointed Milton Richards senior director of athletics and recreation. Richards comes from Cal State Stanislaus, where he was the director of athletics and recreation.
Coaches
Football – South Dakota Mines, a prospective Division II member institution, head football coach Dan Kratzer will retire at the end of the 2011-12 season. Kratzer is currently in his seventh year at the helm.
Softball – Wisconsin-Platteville named Lee Negrelli head softball coach. Negrelli spent the last two years at Francis Marion.
Men’s and women’s tennis – Birmingham-Southern hired Jay Weinacker as its head men’s tennis coach. Weinacker served as a volunteer assistant at Alabama last season.
Miscellaneous
Sue Donohoe, the NCAA’s vice president, championships and alliances, women’s basketball, is resigning from her position. Donohoe started at the national office in 1999.
