Alabama appointed Shane Lyons deputy director of athletics. Lyons comes from the Atlantic Coast Conference, where he began in 2001. Lyons has more then 25 years of experience in college athletics, making additional stops at Texas Tech, the NCAA National Office and the Big South Conference.

Other transactions

Athletics directors – Whit Babcock is Cincinnati’s new director of athletics. Babcock was previously executive associate director at Missouri.

Associate athletics directors – Minnesota named Tom McGinnis associate athletics director for administration and finance and chief financial officer. McGinnis previously worked at Ohio State for 14 years … Oregon chose Lisa Peterson as its senior associate athletics director. Peterson comes from Kentucky, where she was senior associate athletics director for internal operations and the school’s Senior Woman Administrator.

Coaches

Softball – Anna Maria hired Kristi Lyman as head softball coach and designated her senior woman administrator. Lyman most recently held the same titles at Pine Manor from 2009-2011.
