Armstrong Atlantic State hired Jennifer Rushton as its new associate athletics director for compliance and academic services. Rushton was also designated the department’s senior woman administrator. She previously worked at Saginaw Valley State since 2008.

Women’s basketball – Daniel Webster named MaryLynn Skarzenski head women’s basketball coach. Skarzenski spent the last two years as the top assistant at University of New England.

Men’s and women’s volleyball – Coker chose current women’s coach Todd Caughlin to lead the new men’s volleyball program there as well. The squad will start participating in 2012-13.

Sports sponsorship

In addition to Coker adding men’s volleyball for 2012-13, the school also announced it will be adding women’s lacrosse the following year.
