Enforcement VP Lach to address NAAC convention

The National Association for Athletics Compliance will feature NCAA Vice President of Enforcement Julie Roe Lach as a keynote speaker during its annual convention in June.

Lach will address the NAAC attendees during the association’s opening session June 15.

“As the industry voice in athletics compliance, we are happy to offer our membership an opportunity to hear directly from Julie,” said NAAC President Tony Hernandez, deputy athletics director at Miami (Florida). “With our recent release of the reasonable standards and the continued support of the enforcement staff on those initiatives, we appreciate that Julie has committed to addressing our attendees.”

Lach, who previously served as the NCAA director of enforcement since April 2004, was named VP in October and officially took over the duties from David Price in December.  She is the first woman to lead the NCAA enforcement division. 

“The NAAC has established itself as the voice for athletics compliance professionals,” Lach said. “The leadership of NAAC has done a tremendous job appropriately framing the discussion of critical compliance issues. As a past convention attendee, I have directly benefited from the candid and substantive discussion. I look forward to being a part of the 2011 program.”    

During her first few months on the job, Lach has been interacting with the membership to create a better understanding of enforcement functions.
