Louisiana Tech head football coach Sonny Dykes has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him on the sidelines through 2017. Dykes recently completed his second season at the helm, a year in which the Bulldogs won the Western Athletic Conference.

Football – Hawaii named Norm Chow head football coach. Chow, who was born in Honolulu, has been an assistant for 39 years overall. His most recent stop was as Utah’s offensive coordinator … Yale head football coach Tom Williams resigned from his position as head coach.

Football assistants – Ohio State added Everett Withers to its football coaching staff as co-defensive coordinator and assistant head coach. Withers was the interim head coach at North Carolina this season.

Sport sponsorship

Mount Olive will add women’s lacrosse in 2012-13. The addition brings the number of Trojan sports up to 20. Grant Kelam will be the program’s first head coach.
